Biography

Maria Meng-Papantoni studied law at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Pantheon-Assas (Paris II), where she obtained her master’s degree and her PhD. She is Associate Professor of European Business Law at the Panteion University of Athens; she also is a Director of the European Centre of Financial and Economic Law (ECEFIL).

She is visiting professor at the Europa-Institut and institutional participant in the ELPIS-Network. She has been a visiting professor at the Law School of Renmin University-Beijing, the Law School of the University of Yunnan-China, the law School of Wuhan University and visiting scholar at the Institute of International Economic law at Georgetown Law University.

Professor Meng-Papantoni teaches EU internal market law, EU company law, international economic law and energy law. Her research focusses on European internal market law, company law, energy law, EU external relations, and the law of public services. She wrote five books and authored numerous contributions in scholarly volumes.
