SDA Bocconi School of Management

Marco Sampietro is an Associate Professor of Practice of Leadership, Organization and Human Resources at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is an Adjunct Professor of Project Management and Project and Team Management at Università Bocconi.

At SDA Bocconi, he is the Director of the EMBA China, Director of the Agile Management executive program and co-Director of the Project Management executive program.He is also a Faculty Member of SDA Bocconi Asia Center. He has conducted numerous research and education projects for more than 200 private and public organizations.

His research activities analyse several aspects of project management (strategic project management, project portfolio management, predictive, agile and hybrid project management, project followership, agile project management and human factors in project management), agile management and leadership.

He is the author of more than 70 publications (books, articles, papers and case studies). His works have been published, in the Project Management World Journal, the Journal of Applied Project Management, Il Project Manager and Economia&Management, among others. He is an International Academic Advisor of the Project Management World Journal, member of the Scientific Committee of the journal Il Project Manager. From 2015 to 2018 he served as a member the Steering Committee of IPMA-Italy. He has been a Visiting Professor at the International Hellenic University, at the Anton de Kom Universty of Suriname and at the University of Queensland. He is the main author of the Tiscali – D case study, published in The Case Centre, and winner of the prize for best selling case.for two consecutive years.

Marco earned a degree in Economics and Corporate Finance from the Università dell’Insubria and a Ph.D. in Vocational Education and Training from the University of Bremen.
