Biography

Marco Lauerwald built his first website in 2002. Eight years later, he not only achieved his bachelor's degree at the BiTS in Iserlohn in the field of "Business Journalism", he also got his first job in marketing at G DATA in Bochum. In his six years at G DATA, he was responsible, among other things, for the performance campaigns and the support of external online shops such as: B. Amazon is responsible. In 2014, the bachelor's degree was followed by a part-time master's degree at the FOM in Dortmund in the field of “Management: Marketing & Sales”.

Two years later, Marco changed jobs and took over the SEO team at Urlaubsguru GmbH as team leader. He worked for the company as Head of Online Marketing until the end of 2019 and, together with my team of 15, took care of the major areas of social media, performance marketing and SEO for the Urlaubsguru brand. Marco Lauerwald has been Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at watt24 GmbH since 2020.

His greatest professional success was winning the German search engine marketing award “SEMY” in Munich in 2019 for the best SEO campaign with holiday guru. He and his team also made it onto the shortlist for the European Search Award three times and in 2018 only narrowly missed winning the SEMY Award for the best SEO campaign of the year on the shortlist.
