Henley Business School

Marc Day is an experienced scholar, consultant and teacher in the areas of operations management and strategy.  His particular interest is how organisations co-create value with suppliers, and how organisations configure business unit strategy using a capabilities-based perspective. He is a well-respected educator and designs/delivers programmes for corporate clients, MBAs and DBAs at Henley. In his career he has taught in more than 15 countries. A member of four journal editorial boards, and an experienced broadcast media commentator in the areas of strategy, operations and procurement.

 Marc also undertakes a wide variety of consulting assignments, ranging from intensive board-level strategic reviews through to detailed operational assessments of business & supplier performance. Marc Day holds a PhD in manufacturing strategy from Keele University.

Marc Day leads the teaching of strategy (MBA - all modes of study), research skills (MBA - all modes) and research philosophy (DBA Programme).

Executive education delivery in the areas of strategic management and operations strategy.

Research Collaboration

Marc Day is currently collaborating with Prof. Stan Fawcett (Weber State University, USA) and Prof. Greg Magnan (Seattle University, USA) on strategies to build relational capabilities with suppliers. He has long-term links as a consultant and strategic advisor for Future Purchasing Ltd, and also works on the impact of supply strategy on firm performance with Dr. Scott Lichtenstein (Birmingham City University) and Prof. Phillip Samouel (Kingston Uni, UK). He also has considerable publishing links with Prof. Sarah Dixon (Leicester University).
