Maqubè Reese is assistant director for the Kelley School of Business Office of Diversity Initiatives. Maqubè holds a Master of Social Work degree from the IUPUI School of Social Work and a BS degree from Indiana University Bloomington. Her work includes anti-racist training for Kelley staff and students and overseeing community involvement on both a local, state and federal level. She has served as a speaker at Indiana University Bloomington, IUPUI, and Wayne State University. She is slated to present on Community Disruption & Reinvention: Strategies Targeting the Roots of Division ABA Dispute Resolution Spring Conference.

Maqubè also serves as VP of the NAACP Monroe County Branch; member of the Board of Public Safety in Bloomington, IN; and President-elect for Count Us Indiana, a nonpartisan, nonprofit movement to increase civic engagement for historically underserved and marginalized communities throughout the state of Indiana. Maqubè is a fierce advocate for mental wellness, education, and equitable, inclusive communities. Maqubè is skilled at developing effective leaders with a critical, compassionate eye that focuses on equity and inclusion. She believes that business leaders and practitioners are responsible for creating safe spaces with intention, care, and responsibility.

Maqubè’s passion as a practitioner is to provide and assist with implementing practical next steps to address structural deficiencies. Similarly, Maqubè is strategic with centering sustainable transformation. Maqubè is gifted in connecting with all ages and identities and welcomes the opportunity to observe, engage, learn, heal and champion others to ensure an inclusive, equitable, intersectional ecosystem for all.
