Biography

I am Senior Lecturer and Co-Director of the Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies (CTIS), a leading research centre bringing together a very active group of scholars in translation and interpreting studies.

Having studied German and French translation with interpreting at undergraduate level, I completed my postgraduate education in translation studies in Ireland, Germany and the UK.

I deliver MA courses in scientific and technical translation, translation technologies, translation project management and research methods and I supervise PhD projects in a range of areas of translation and interpreting studies (see below).

My research has always been highly interdisciplinary. I am currently using approaches and methods from science and technology studies, practice theory and the history of science in my studies of translation (see Research interests section for more details).
