Educational background

I am trained in theology and contemporary continental philosophy at Department of Systematic Theology (University of Copenhagen), where I also did my PhD.

Current research

  • I am interested in the interface and possible dialogue between theology and Freudian psychoanalysis. My research in this area is focused on subjectivity and ethics with the theological themes of original sin, neighbour love, confession and forgiveness as pivotal points.
  • Within the field of political theology my research is mainly focused the recent attention towards theology among neo-Marxist philosophers, but I am also interested in questions concerning secularization and the conceptual influence of theology on modern social and political thought.
  • Another research interest of mine is the development of psychoanalytical informed strategies for social and political analyses of power and identity with focus particularly on rituals, asceticism and belief.

Primary research areas

  • Philosophy of Religion
  • Ethics
  • Political Theology
  • Psychoanalysis
  • 20th Century French Philosophy
