Biography

Luke Novelli founded 8020 Leader Development in 2012. The business focuses on enabling leaders and teams to fully tap their capabilities through data interpretation and meaningful participation in decision-making. We also design, deliver, and support leadership development initiatives that emphasize building innovation processes and systems using state of-the-art information, resources, and approaches. In addition, we have developed a robust capability for virtual workshop delivery.

Luke spent 18-years at the Center for Creative Leadership. His most recent position was Senior Fellow. He also held positions as Global Director – Custom Solutions; Asia Open Enrollment Director; Asia Director – Custom Programs; Research Director – Innovation and Creativity; Manager – Project Leadership Program. He continues his association with the Center as an Honorary Senior Fellow. During his tenure at the Center, he engaged in nearly all aspects of the management and delivery of leadership development initiatives.

Luke holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior (University of Southern California) and an MBA (San Diego State University). He has held faculty positions at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro and Gonzaga University, where he taught management and organizational behavior courses. At Univeritas 21, an international consortium of graduate business schools that offers fully accredited online MBA programs, Luke facilitated the Organizational Behavior course and a Capstone research course. In addition, he was an adjunct faculty member at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, Wake Forest University in North Carolina, and National University. Luke authored over 50 book chapters, articles, and conference presentations on leadership development and organizational effectiveness. He has been an editorial board member of the Thunderbird International Business Review and President of the Organizational Development and Change Division of the Academy of Management.

Luke has worked with a large number of US and international organizations on projects involved critical leadership development and change efforts. (e.g., SEACEN (Southeast Asian Central Bankers Association), Bank Negara Malaysia, Allianz Global Investors, TATA, Aditya Birla, Marsh, NOL, Pfizer, Novartis, Sematech, Goodyear, Pasteur-Mérieux-Connaught, Cadbury Beverages, Trane, Peabody Energy, Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, and Boeing, to name a few. He resided in Singapore and Manila for nine years while serving Asian clients.
