Biography

Luis F. Martinez is is Associate Professor of Marketing and Behavioral Science (with Habilitation | Agregação in Management) at Nova SBE, where he is currently Academic Co-Director of the Master’s in Management. He earned his Ph.D. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Tilburg University. He also holds a Licentiate (pre-Bologna) degree in Economics from Nova SBE and a Master of Research in Organizational Behavior from ISPA Instituto Universitário. He holds (or held) Visiting Scholar positions at MIT Sloan, VSE Prague, and EM Strasbourg. Prior to joining Nova SBE, he was Assistant Professor at the Business School of ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. He supervises Ph.D. Theses, Directed Research Master Theses, and CEMS-MIM Business Projects. His research interests include behavioral decision-making, emotion, consumer behavior, digital marketing, and health at work. He is currently serving as an editorial board member for the International Journal of Consumer Studies, Electronic Commerce Research, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, and Frontiers in Psychology. His research work has appeared in the journals mentioned above and in other diverse prestigious outlets such as Decision, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Research, Cognition and Emotion, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Journal of Economic Psychology, Stress and Health, and PLOS One.

Current research interests include: behavioral decision-making, consumer behavior, emotion, digital marketing and electronic commerce, sustainability, organizational behavior, presenteeism and health at work.
