Biography
Lori Kerr is the incoming Chief Executive Officer of FinDev Canada. A Canadian national, Ms. Kerr is a widely experienced development finance specialist with more than two decades of leadership in international development, with a specialization in sustainable infrastructure, climate change, and private investment in emerging markets.
Ms. Kerr spent 18 years of her career at the Inter-American Development Bank Group in Washington, D.C. Her management roles in both operational and corporate functions included overseeing investing, portfolio management, partnerships, and strategy. She was private sector focal point for the Climate Investment Funds and the Global Environment Facility, investment committee chair of $250M blended climate finance fund and oversaw loan and equity portfolios. As a senior advisor to the VP of Private Sector Operations, she spearheaded a variety of strategic initiatives (financial and non-financial) to support the expansion and development impact of private sector activities. As a senior investment officer, she led the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of project finance, corporate finance and guarantee transactions in infrastructure and clean energy throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Subsequently, Ms. Kerr served as Senior Director at Climate Finance Advisors, developing low-carbon, climate-resilient investment strategies and blended finance solutions to mobilise private capital in developing countries. Currently, at the Global Infrastructure Facility, which provides transaction advisory to developing countries to build pipelines of bankable, sustainable infrastructure programmes and projects that attract private capital and housed at the World Bank, she is responsible for corporate strategy, knowledge, partnerships, and international engagement. She holds an International MBA in Finance and Economics from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada.
