Biography

Harvard Medical School

I am the Director of the Applied Neuroimaging Statistics Lab at McLean Hospital, which focuses on developing new statistical methods for functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data analysis, and on applying state-of-the-art analysis methods such as multi-modal data fusion and machine learning methods for basic neuroscience research on drug use and psychiatric disorders. Current research involves using large-scale open access neuroimaging datasets including HCP and UK Biobank to develop and apply new statistical methods and machine learning techniques, including tensor and matrix decomposition methods such as ICA and linked ICA for data fusion tor investigate brain structure and function in drug use and psychiatric disorders. Specific projects utilize the Human Connectome Project (HCP) data to investigate alcohol and cannabis use on brain circuitry implicated in social cognition and for methods development. I also provide statistical support and training for numerous junior scientists and collaborators, mentoring, and I teach seminars and courses on imaging statistics, resting state and task fMRI data processing, multivariate data-driven methods and other imaging analysis topics. I am alsoa biostatistics consultant for the Harvard Catalyst. I am a faculty member of the Harvard Mind Brain Behavior and the Harvard Data Science Initiatives and act as mentor to students and post-docs through the HDSI MIND project. My lab is currently accepting new trainees.
