WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management

Lisa Hillmann obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and her Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Goettingen. In 2020, she received her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on business taxation from the same university. Part of Lisa’s research was carried out at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018. Since April 2021, she has been an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting and Business Taxation.

Research interests:

Lisa’s research focuses on empirical research in the field of taxation. In particular, she is interested in tax avoidance and the effects of taxation on firms’ investment and payout decisions. Her research interests include the intersection of tax research with related research areas, such as financial reporting, corporate governance and corporate finance.
