Likoebe M. Maruping is Professor of Computer Information Systems in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2006. Prior to joining the faculty at Georgia State University, he was on faculty at the University of Arkansas and at the University of Louisville. Likoebe has enjoyed working with colleagues as a visiting scholar at a variety of institutions including University of Mannheim, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Bocconi University, and University of Queensland.
The overarching theme of his research to date has been collaboration in small- (e.g., teams) and large-scale (e.g., open source communities, open innovation communities) collectives. This research has generally focused on three areas: collaboration in the construction of software, (2) collaboration in digitally-enabled contexts, and (3) the use of collaboration technology.
Likoebe’s research on these themes has been published in premier information systems, organizational behavior, and psychology journals including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Likoebe currently serves as senior editor for MIS Quarterly and is on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He previously served as associate editor for MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research and as senior editor for Journal of the Association for Information Systems. He is a recipient of MIS Quarterly’s Reviewer of the Year and Outstanding Associate Editor awards as well the Information Systems Research Best Associate Editor award.
