Lieselot Danneels is Professor of e-governance. In her research she examines digital transformation in government. She is particularly interested in organizational design for digital transformation, (open and big) data as a platform, and smart city ecosystems. Lieselot obtained her PhD on digital transformation in public administration at KU Leuven and Vlerick Business School in 2017. In 2020, she joined the Department of Public Governance at Ghent University.

Lieselot teaches the master’s courses of government digitalization and research methods in public administration and management. She has worked with leading organizations in the public sector (VDAB, the public employment service for the Flemish region) and in the private sector (Arcadis). She is a jury member for the Agoria eGov & Smart City Awards.
