Biography

Lauren E. Aydinliyim is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management in the Zicklin School of Business. Her primary research considers how employee governance mechanisms, such as employee non-compete, non-solicitation, or confidentially agreements, affect firm performance and innovation, as well as the ethical implications of such mechanisms. More broadly, she is interested in how changes in the institutional environment, particularly changes to laws or regulations, affect firm behavior. She addresses both firm and institutional conditions via an interdisciplinary approach combining her formal education and former professional experiences as both a human resources executive and legal counsel. Professor Aydinliyim’s prior legal career was dedicated to in-house legal work with entrepreneurial companies in all realms of corporate legal work including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and employment and benefits. She has additional professional experience as a business professional, including human resources work for high-growth companies, serving as payroll and benefits administrator, and negotiating contracts and developing software licensing agreements. Professor Aydinliyim teaches Business Policy (BPL-5100) at the Zicklin School of Business and has previously taught both graduate and undergraduate courses on ethics in business.
