SUMMARY PRESENTATION OF THE RESEARCH

Laura Nicolas' research falls within two complementary fields: that of language teaching (analysis of language mediations in foreign language training for adults) and that of educational sciences (teaching practices in class and outside the classroom, training teachers in so-called pedagogy "by nature").

The central point of this research is an interest in the processes of creating meaning and maintaining the link between the individual-learner (child or adult) and his immediate environment (the human, plant, animal and material elements with which he is in interaction and communication) and distant (the socio-biographical and cultural data that belong to him and from which he interprets the world around him).
