Mr. Larry M.K. Tchou currently serves as Senior Advisor – Greater China, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Since joining Hyatt in 1970, Mr. Tchou has worked his way up from being Rooms Division Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, Hotel Manager to General Manager at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, to regional positions as Area Vice President, and Senior Vice President & Managing Director – Asia Pacific. The previous capacity of Mr. Tchou was Group President for the Asia Pacific region.

As one of the first employees of Hyatt in Asia, Mr. Tchou was instrumental in introducing Hyatt into mainland China over 27 years ago, and has played an irreplaceable role in establishing Hyatt’s stronghold in the region.

With more than 40 years’ tenure with Hyatt, Mr. Tchou has gained great respect and recognition throughout the company and the industry. In recognition of his dedication and contribution, he was bestowed a Lifetime Achievement Award by the China Hotel Investment Summit Advisory Board in April 2006, conferred Honorary Fellowship by the Vocational Training Council in November 2008, Honorary Fellow of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in May 2011, China Hotel Industry Lifetime Achievement Award by China Hotel Starlight Awards in March, 2015 and the HICAP Lifetime Achievement Award in October, 2017.

Mr. Tchou is also an advocate for education in hospitality and tourism. He currently serves as an Advisor on various hotel and tourism boards at different educational institutions and was a member of various hospitality councils and committees.

Mr. Tchou was born in Shanghai and attended the Business Administration Degree Course at the Sydney Technical College in Australia. He speaks fluent English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Shanghainese.
