Biography
CBS Executive
In her industrial PhD project titled "Multi-criteria decision analysis in health technology assessments: current use and methodological development" Laila Kærgaard Starr will provide insights on some of the newest developments in payer assessment of innovative medicines and develop tools to support decision making from early drug development. The development of a multi-criteria approach to priority setting has been identified as one of the most important issues in health system research and the project therefore also have a clear public utility perspective. The project is conducted in collaboration between the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk and CBS/ECON, supervised by Professor Peter Bogetoft.
Laila Kærgaard Starr holds an MSc in Public Health from the University of Copenhagen. She has extensive experience working with international health issues. Prior to starting her PhD she was a research fellow in the epidemiological department at the World Health Organization’s cancer research agency (International Agency for Research on Cancer, IARC) in France.
