Jones Graduate School of Business

Kunal Sachdeva is an Assistant Professor of Finance with the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. His research focuses on the financial intermediation between institutional investors and households. Prior to joining the faculty at Rice, Kunal completed a Ph.D. in finance from Columbia Business School. He previously graduated MIT Sloan School of Management with an M.Fin., and Queen’s University (Canada) with a B.A. and B.Sc. in Economic and Electrical Engineering, respectively. In-between graduate degrees, Kunal worked as a research analyst for a multi-billion dollar fund-of-funds managed by BlackRock.

He won the 2020 Moskowitz prize from the Kellogg School of Management! His award-winning research, The Real Effects of Environmental Activist Investing, was co-authored with Assistant Professor Lakshmi Naaraayanan and Varun Sharma of the London Business School.
