Dr. Kui Liu received his BEng and MEng degrees from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China in 1989 and 1996 respectively, and PhD degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002. He worked as a lecturer at NUAA from 1989 to 1998 and was a postdoctoral fellow at NUS from 2002 to 2004.
Currently he is a Team Leader and Scientist at Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. His research interests include ultra-precision machining, nano/micro machining, ductile machining of brittle materials, ultrasonic vibration assisted machining, high speed machining and tool development. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 technical papers published in international journals and conferences. He is a member of SME, euspen and JSPE.
