Biography

Koray D. Simsek’s research focuses on investments, risk management and derivatives markets.

Dr. Simsek’s research has been published in academic and practitioner journals in finance as well as related cross-disciplinary fields. His articles have appeared in Operations Research, Journal of Portfolio Management, Quantitative Finance, Journal of Investment Management, Journal of Operational Risk, and International Review of Economics and Finance, among others. His research has been supported by Tubitak (Turkish Science Foundation).

Before coming to Rollins, Dr. Simsek taught at Sabanci University and EDHEC Business School. At Sabanci, he founded and managed the first educational trading room in Turkey. At EDHEC, he was the co-head of the Asset-Liability Management research program in the EDHEC Risk Institute. Dr. Simsek also had a visiting scholar position at MIT Sloan School of Management. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has been volunteering for the CFA Institute.

Dr. Simsek has served as consultant or instructor for various companies and organizations in asset management, banking, energy, and financial technology industries. Among these are Akbank, Borsa Istanbul, Infina, Isbank, and Rasyonet in Turkey, EDF and Lyxor in France, and Department of Labor and Mt. Lucas Management in the US.
