Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller was born on 19 December 1969. He is a German national and lives in St.Gallen with his wife and two daughters.

After his Abitur examinations at the Friedrichsgymnasium in Kassel and training in the German Armed Forces, he read Business Engineering (Machine Building) at the Technische Universität Darmstadt from 1991 and obtained his diploma in that subject there after periods in Princeton (USA), Seoul (Korea) and Bangkok (Thailand).

Doctor’s degree in Economic and Social Sciences From 1998 to 2005, he worked as a member of the research staff at the Chair of General Business Administration and Controlling of the University of Stuttgart under Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Péter Horváth. In 2002, he was awarded his doctor’s degree in Economic and Social Sciences with the distinction of summa cum laude on the topic of Zulieferintegration in das Target Costing auf Basis der Transaktionskostentheorie [subcontractor integration in target costing on the basis of the transaction cost theory]. He received a prize for scientific work from the Stiftung Industrieforschung.

Habilitation on value creation in networks In 2005, he habilitated at the University of Stuttgart on the topic of Wertschöpfung in Netzwerken, was awarded the venia legendi for Business Administration and became a habilitated lecturer. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Klaus Möller deputised for the Chair of Controlling and Accounting at the Technische Universität München. Since 2007, he has been Professor of Accounting and Controlling at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

Speaker in MBA programmes Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller held various lectureships, for instance at the University of Innsbruck, and was a speaker in various MBA programmes, among them the Executive Master in Business Innovation of the European Business School and the Executive Master in Communication and Leadership and Executive Training in Creating and Communicating Value at the Technische Universität München Business School. He also worked at Tartu University, Estland, and the Alma Graduate School, Università di Bologna, Italy.

Editor of the journal Controlling Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller was involved in the Human Capital Auditor training course of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller has been a member of the working circle on Integration Management for New Products since 2002 and of the working circle on Immaterial Values in Accounting of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft since 2009. Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller has been editor of the journal Controlling (Vahlen Verlag, Munich) since 2008.

Extensive list of publications Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller has an extensive list of publications with five monographs, more than 50 contributions to books and journals, as wells as numerous conference papers, and he has had publications in leading national and international journals, among them the Journal of Accounting and Organizational Change, the Journal of Intellectual Capital and zfbf - Zeitschrift für betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung und Praxis. He has received Best Paper Awards from the Performance Measurement Association, the Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, the KIZOK - Centre for Management and Innovation and the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Research and transfer projects One focal point of his activities to date has been fund-raising for publicly and privately financed research and transfer projects. From its foundation in 2002 until 2007, he was involved in the establishment and management of the private charitable IPRI - International Performance Research Institute GmbH. He has been involved, and still is, in numerous research and transfer projects, for example for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) and the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Performance neasurement, Network and innovation controlling Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller’s research foci are in the fields of performance measurement/management and network and innovation controlling. His work is predominantly quantitative/empirical but also includes qualitative case study research. In terms of methodology, Prof. Dr. Klaus Möller focuses on multivariate analysis procedures such as structural equation models, operations research methods such as the analytical network process, and time series analyses such as vector autoregressive models.
