Kimberly Hogan, MA, LMSW, PhD(c) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a Co-Founder of the Southern Miss Trafficking Research Initiative (SMTRI), which aims to be a hub for human trafficking research and training in Mississippi. Kimberly has a focus on domestic sex trafficking and the therapeutic needs for exiting. She is a single subject matter expert consultant for the United States Department of Justice. She is currently a Co-Investigator for Project ACCESS: Advancing Community Connections to Enhance Services and Success, which is a federally funded $700K HRSA Grant (2021-2025). This grant seeks to expand access to behavioral health services to underserved and rural areas, which is home to many children and families with considerable risk factors and behavioral health needs. Her research work spans the prevention, detection, identification, and treatment of minor and adult sex trafficking victims.
