I joined the University of Salford in 2003 after working for 14 years in the University of Central Lancashire. Overall I have spent 25 years teaching project and risk management in higher education.

TEACHING

I teach on a variety of business and management courses with a focus on risk and project management.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • My research interests are focused on risk and project management and the management of social and community enterprises.
  • PhD Supervision
  • I am currently supervising doctoral students on the following topics: talent management in the Thai hotel industry, and the area of social enterprise.
  • I would be interested in supervising future doctoral students in: the project management of risk and where risk intersects with the business of management, especially in regard to food safety risk.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS

  • I have a Phd in risk management in micro-businesses and an MSc in Organisation Development.
  • I am a Registered Project Professional (RPP) of the Association of Project Management. This is the project management equivalent of ‘Chartered’ status and is the highest grade of qualification in UK project management with less than 3% of the profession achieving this grade. I also have post graduate qualifications in Food Safety Management; Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); Diploma in Marketing (CIM); Accounting and Finance (CIMA).
