Biography
Harvard Medical School
Dr. Williams completed her medical school training at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. She completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Nebraska (UNMC)/Creighton University joint residency program. She graduated from the child and adolescent fellowship program at Brown University in Providence, RI.
She specializes in the psychiatric management of traumatic stress and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
Dr. Williams runs a small private practice in Concord, MA. She also provides supervision and psychiatric consultation to programs within the Justice Resource Institute (JRI) where she serves as the Medical Director of MA Children’s Residential Programming. She also provides direct clinical services at the Walden Street School in Concord, MA, a therapeutic residential school specializing in the treatment of adolescent girls experiencing traumatic stress.
Dr. Williams currently holds a faculty appointment at the Harvard Medical School as an Instructor in Psychiatry. In this role, she teaches medical students, residents and fellows current enrolled in Harvard training programs.
Dr. Williams provides psychiatric consultation to the Osiris Group, a Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) provider located in Roxbury, MA. She also serves as the school physician at the Nashoba Learning Group in Bedford, MA, a therapeutic school program for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.
In March 2020, Dr. Williams launched a radio talk show on 98.1FM The Urban Heat, called “Black Mental Health Matters”. This airs every Sunday at 1pm EST on heat981fm.com.
Dr. Williams was recently selected as one of the Boston Business Journal’s 40 under 40 for 2020. She was also selected as one of the Get Konnected! Boston’s Most Impactful Black Women in 2021.
