Molecular Cardiovascular and Innate Immunity/Inflammatory signaling in the heart and heart disease. Ischemia/reperfusion injury, cardioprotection (ischemic and remote), and heart failure. We have a recent interest in the interaction between the cardiovascular system and the nervous system, and exosome programming of cellular function. We are also studying remote nerve-induced modulation of cardioprotection and cardiac function as well as the role of microRNA in these systems (nerve and exosome). Finally, we have launched an online Pharmacovigilance Program and are exploring related research opportunities.
