Biography
Antwerp Management School
Katrien De Langhe graduated in 2011 as a business engineer at the Faculty of Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp. She started working at the Department of Transport and Regional Economics at the University of Antwerp in 2011, in the context of the Research Centre on Commodity Flows, later the Research Centre on Commodity and Passenger Flows. Since November 2013, she works as an academic assistant at the Department of Transport and Regional Economics. Her research focuses on rail transport, urban logistics and social cost-benefit analysis. In 2019, she obtained her PhD in which she examined the potential for rail in urban freight distribution.
She presented academic papers at the World Conference on Transport Research (2016, 2019), Antwerp Rail School (2015, 2017, 2019), Air Transport Research Society Conference (2017), City Logistics Conference (2015, 2017), Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility (2018), RailTech (2017), Séminaire francophone est-ouest de socio-économie des transports (2016), Nectar City Logistics and Sustainable Freight Transport Workshop (2015), Hamburg International Conference on Logistics (2014) and BIVEC-GIBET (2013). She published an article on the analysis of external costs when using rail for urban freight distribution in the Journal Research in Transportation Business and Management (2017) and, as co-author, on the financial intertwinement of European airport operators in the Journal of Air Transport Management (2018).
