Kathryn MacMillan (’01) (she, her, hers) Kathryn MacMillan is a director of more than 50 productions in the Philadelphia region, off-Broadway, and across the East Coast, including Unraveled (Off-Broadway); Arcadia, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Betrayal (Lantern Theater); Fully Committed (Delaware Theatre Company); The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Shakespeare in Clark Park); The Comedy of Errors (Dram Tree Shakespeare); Grounded and The Niceties (InterAct); Romeo & Juliet (Commonwealth Classic Co); and The Revolutionists, I Am My Own Wife, and Fully Committed (Theatre Horizon). She has returned to Villanova Theatre twice as a guest artist, directing Lagan (2017) and The School for Lies (2014) on the mainstage in Vasey. Her honors and awards include: Beauty Queen of Leenane (named Best Production 2012/13 & Best Director, from Philadelphia Weekly); Doubt (one of the Best Plays of 2015 from the Philadelphia Daily News); and Barrymore nominations includeThe Revolutionists, nominated in 2018 for six Barrymore Awards for Theatre Excellence, including Best Production & Best Director; Outstanding Direction for The Hothouse, I Am My Own Wife, and The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged (also co-writer). For eight years, KC was the Associate Artistic Director at Philadelphia’s Lantern Theater, and was the 2017/18 Guest Artistic Director at Montgomery County’s Theatre Horizon. Since 2017, she has been the Artistic Director of Philadelphia’s Tiny Dynamite. In 2015, KC was named one of Billy Penn’s Who’s Next: 16 Young Philadelphians Shaping the Arts Scene.
