Biography

Kathryn King taught undergraduate Management Consulting courses and graduate courses in Negotiations. Adviser to the Texas A&M Consulting Club, open to students from all across TAMU. This club introduces students to the field of consulting, teaches them strategic approaches to case competitions, presentation skills, PowerPoint slide designs, and also manages the annual Mays Case Competition for undergraduates. I started this competition in 2015 to identify students to put on case teams for competitions both internationally and nationally. Versatile leader with over 20 years in management positions with global IT and Software companies. My experience includes strategic management issues, cross-cultural management, organizational development, change management, product management, negotiations, marketing, customer service, sales and support, entrepreneurship, and services operations. As a management consultant with several national firms and the owner of my own consulting firm, I utilized my diverse background to assist clients in virtually every functional area of organizations through both team and leadership roles. I was a founding member of the Entrepreneurial Council in Research Triangle Park, NC and worked with venture capitalists, banks, accounting firms, and entrepreneurs to create business plans and to get new businesses off the ground. My academic research focused on management consulting issues and on international negotiation strategies. Past research focused on the influence of national and organizational culture within businesses. A major project was conducted with service employees with MNCs operating in Shanghai; Lhasa, Tibet; Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania. Specialties: Management Consulting, leadership, negotiations, cross-cultural management, change management, and international management.
