Katherine Stebbins has taught courses on writing and research; consumer culture; cross-cultural contact; travel and tourism; and science and technology at Harvard University, Boston University, and other area schools. In addition to holding the Batten Fellowship at the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies and the Kate B. and Hall J. Peterson Fellowship at the American Antiquarian Society, she received the 2010 Alan Heimert Teaching Prize from the Committee on Degrees in History and Literature at Harvard University.
Most recently, she served as the Assistant Dean of Students for Hult International Business School, where she was named to the Hult Faculty Honor Roll for service to the school and its students in 2012. She is the author of “Hares Haeredem: The Spectator as seen through Samuel Dexter’s Spectacles,” in New Views of New England: Studies in Material and Visual Culture, 1680-1830, and she is at work on a book about eighteenth century eyeglasses called Reading Glasses: Consuming Spectacles in the Age of Franklin.
