Biography
Harris School of Public Policy
Katherine Baird is an Assistant Instructional Professor at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Her research covers areas of environmental and energy policy. In particular, she is interested in studying funding mechanisms for climate change adaptation, as well as how markets incorporate disaster-related risk. At Harris, she teaches courses in industrial organization and regulation, cost-benefit analysis, and statistics. Katherine has served as a NORC Fellow and has researched with the Institute of Government and Public Affairs. During her time as a PhD student, she conducted research with Jim Sallee and Koichiro Ito. Katherine holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago as well as a Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Economics from University of Illinois at Chicago.
