Biography
UW Professional & Continuing Education
Karen Marshall’s museum career spans more than 30 years. She has held positions in collections management, museum education, exhibition planning and production, marketing, development, visitor services and museum administration. She has crisscrossed the United States working at state historical societies, specialty museums, small historical organizations and historic sites. Prior to her current role as a consultant to nonprofit organizations, she served as executive director of three historical organizations in Northwest Washington.
She is a graduate of the Cooperstown Graduate Program in History Museum Studies and is a former president of the Washington Museum Association. In 2009 she was honored to receive the Washington Museum Association’s Board Award of Excellence for her leadership and dedication to the museum community.
