ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

Dr. Karen A. Berger is the Associate Dean and Director of Undergraduate Programs and a field-oriented case researcher spanning marketing management, international issues and non-profit business strategy. Most recently, she has published a case study about a not-for-profit company with financial and management difficulties in the Business Case Journal (2017) and another case study about Starbucks and its efforts to enter India in the Journal of Case Studies (2016).

As a key architect for the Pace Path/Lubin Professional Experience, she takes an active role in program development, execution and evaluation. The program requirements help motivate students to start career planning and practice as early as their sophomore year of their degree programs. Her teaching interests lie in the area of marketing management, brand management and pedagogy in higher education. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the American Marketing Association, and the Society for Case Research.

Dr. Berger is a reviewer for the Business Case Journal, Journal of Case Studies, and the Journal of Critical Incidents. In 2014 she stepped down from the Board of the Society for Case Research after 9 years of service, but she continues to play a role in the organization attending the annual conference, presenting new case studies and case study ideas, serving on panels about case research and teaching.
