Kajsa Asplund is a PhD student in Business Administration at the Department of Management and Organization (DMO). She is a professional psychologist with her MSc degree (2014) from Uppsala University. She also holds a BA in French (2011). Her research centers on the psychological effects of employee differentiation initiatives, with Talent Management as the prime example. Prominent research interests also include work stress from a psychological perspective, work motivation, and identity at work. In her Master thesis, which earned the City of Uppsala''s scholarship for outstanding theses in 2014, she developed and experimentally tested a six-week stress reduction program for managers with direct reports. The study showed a significant reduction in stress symptoms compared to the control group. 

Before Kajsa Asplund entered the SSE PhD program in 2014 she was a consultant at the Stockholm-based firm Psykologifabriken, helping companies with issues concerning managerial stress, gender issues, and performance management. She also has several years of experience from recruitment, selection, and assessment. In 2013, Kajsa Asplund received the award Uppsala Student of the Year, sponsored by Uppsala University and the famous Swedish entrepreneur Anders Wall.
