Prof. Dr. Jürgen Strohhecker is professor for business administration, operations and cost management at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Born 1968. From 1987 to 1992, studies of business administration at Mannheim University. From 1992 to 1996, assistant lecturer at the industrial seminar of Mannheim University. In 1997, doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.).
From 1995 to 2001, Managing Director of SIMCON GmbH Gesellschaft für Managementsimulation und Consulting.
From January to August 2002, Visiting Research Fellow at the London Business School. From 2005 to 2009, head of Frankfurt School’s Management Research Centre. From 2006 to 2010, member of the management board of Deutsche Gesellschaft for System Dynamics e.V (DGSD) and from 2010 to 2014 president of DGSD. Since 2011 Member of the System Dynamics Society’s nomination committee. 2014 President Elect and 2015 President of the System Dynamics Society.
Professor Strohhecker teaches courses in system dynamics, production and operations management, supply chain management, and management accounting. His research interests include dynamic complex decision making, behavioural operations management, behavioural accounting and production control. 1998 he was awarded with the research prize of the “Prechel Foundation“. Together with colleague Prof. Dr. Rainer Sibbel he was honoured for excellence in teaching in 2010. The teaching module „Operations Management“ was ranked among top 12 of all in all 57 submissions to the Hessian Academic Award for Excellence in Teaching (Hessischen Hochschulpreises für Exzellenz in der Lehre 2010).
