Julian Dodd

Biography

I was appointed to a lectureship at Manchester in 1999, becoming a senior lecturer in 2002 and a professor in 2006. My work is mostly in aesthetics and metaphysics, and I''m the author of two monographs: An Identity Theory of Truth (Palgrave, 2000) and Works of Music: An Essay in Ontology (OUP, 2007).  

The main focus of my research at the moment is the idea of authentic musical performance, and I''m now starting the process of writing a book on this topic. In my spare time I''m Head of Discipline Area and Director of The Mind Association.
