Joan Farran is an Emeritus Professor in the Marketing Department who joined IESE in 1958. He specializes in agribusiness management and has worked closely in this field with professors from Harvard Business School.
Professor Farran is the author of 16 books on agribusiness, distribution and logistics, and has written over a hundred cases and technical notes on these topics. He published the first collection of agribusiness cases in Europe in 1973.
Joan Farran was the first secretary general of IESE and has occupied different management positions of responsibility at IESE. He has also helped consolidate close relations between IESE and Harvard Business School and Harvard professors, such as Ralph Hower, who was a member of the Harvard-IESE Advisory Committee and was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Navarra.
