Joshua Shemesh is a Senior Lecturer of Finance in the Department of Banking and Finance at the Monash Business School. Josh is mostly interested in behavioural finance, taking insights from psychology and understanding how they affect economic and financial decisions. His work focuses on the impact of social status concerns in the corporate, household and analyst domains. His broad research interests also include market efficiency, activism and crowdfunding. His research was published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting.

Prior to joining Monash in 2017, Josh was a senior Lecturer at the university of Melbourne. He received his PhD in finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
