Wisconsin School of Business

Joe Walsh, CRE, FRICS, is a Faculty Associate in the real estate program at the Wisconsin School of Business. In addition to teaching courses in Real Estate Finance, Urban Land Economics, Real Estate Valuation, Computer Applications in Real Estate and International Business at both the MBA and undergraduate levels, Mr. Walsh teaches and leads study tours focused on global real estate issues and oversees curriculum and student services for the Global Real Estate Masters program.

Prior to joining the Wisconsin real estate program, Mr. Walsh’s professional experience included positions as Senior Director of Development at Great Wolf Resorts (www.greatwolf.com), a resort hotel development company, Manager in the Real Estate Services Group of Arthur Andersen, LLP, Assistant Director of Finance, Great Lakes Companies, Inc., a hotel development company, and Principal of his own consulting and valuation firm. He holds a Masters degree in real estate and bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Recently, Mr. Walsh was a Visiting Scholar at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a speaker and panelist at Expo Real 2010, Expo Real 2009, MAPIC 2009 and the ICSC Wisconsin Idea Exchange. He is a member of The Counselors of Real Estate, a Fellow in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an active academic member of Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE).
