The London School of Economics and Political Science

Jose P. Vasquez is an Assistant Professor of Managerial Economics and Strategy. Dr Vasquez’s main work is at the intersection of international trade and labour economics. In particular, his research focuses on the effects of globalisation on both workers and firms. His recent work examines the impact of the entry and expansion of multinational corporations on the labour market and on the productivity of domestic firms in the host economy.

Before joining LSE, Vasquez was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Economics Department of Princeton University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.A. in Economics from CEMFI, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Costa Rica. Before his Ph.D., he also worked as a researcher and policy advisor at the Central Bank of Costa Rica.
