José Luis holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and Economics from Universidad de Navarra, an MBA, and IFP from IESE, and a B.A. in Business Administration and Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (CEU). He also has post-doc studies at Harvard – Professional Services Firms- and Michigan – Strategic HR.

José Luis has extensive experience in Consulting, Corporate Finance, and Human Resources. He was Director for Hay Group, advising more than 50 large companies on large-scale projects, Director M&A for Crédit Commerciale de France in Spain, and first Corporate HR Director for Philip Morris -the largest world FMCG firm at that time- in Spain and Portugal, leading its transformation process. He is an expert in implementing business changes through the HR and people function. Later he was appointed European HR Director based in Switzerland for fifteen EU countries. He was also President of the European Compensation & Benefits Forum encompassing the twenty-five world largest FMCG multinational companies present in Europe. From Switzerland, he moved to South America (Venezuela) to lead the merger of Nabisco into Kraft General Foods – the food division of Philip Morris- for the Andean Area (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia) as HR Director, with twelve factories and six thousand people, resulting in the new Kraft Foods (Mondeléz International now) with an IPO in New York.

He is currently managing partner of Sievert Partners, a consulting company based in Miami that was born in an IESE PADE. He is also a Business and Executive Coach and part of the IESE Coaching unit.
