Biography

Jonathan Darsey is a PhD student in Georgia Tech's Nunn School of International Affairs, Science & Technology, where he focuses on understanding the effect of location on the international system of states and on intrastate political economies. Mr. Darsey started his work at Georgia Tech after a career in strategy consulting and higher education management. As a consultant, Mr. Darsey focused on brand and corporate strategy for global pharmaceutical companies, with a particular focus on product launch and customer strategy. In his last role as a strategist, he was one of five partners in the North America Pharmaceutical Strategy practice of Accenture, where he also founded and led an 800 person practice aimed at developing the consulting skills of entry-level employees of the firm. Mr. Darsey left Accenture to serve as the Associate Dean of the Executive MBA programs at Emory University's top-20 ranked Goizueta Business school. Mr. Darsey holds a Master of International Service degree in Development from American University's School of International Service, an MBA with Distinction (top 10% of class) from Cornell's Johnson School of Management, and a BA in Economics and Sociology from Davidson College, where he was a recipient of the Dean Rusk Fellowship and the cross-school Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. Mr. Darsey is active also in community affairs in Atlanta, where he has served for seven years on the Board and as Board Chair of Living Room Inc, a non-profit that enables those with HIV/AIDs to achieve permanent stable housing.
