Joseph P. Cannon is professor of marketing at Colorado State University. Prior to joining CSU, Joe taught at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He received his Ph.D. in marketing from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. He was visiting professor of marketing at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. Joe has also taught classes in Austria, France, Germany, and Thailand. Before he became a professor, Joe worked for the Eastman Kodak Company in technical sales and marketing.

Joe usually teaches Marketing and Marketing Strategy and Management in the undergraduate program, Marketing Strategy and Planning in various MBA programs, Marketing Strategy and Creativity for Managers in executive programs.

Joe’s research examines the building and managing of buyer-supplier relationships in business markets. More recently he has explored cross-cultural issues in this area, conducting studies in Germany, Mexico, Canada, and Thailand. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Operations Management, Academy of Management Review and other academic journals.

He is author of two introductory marketing text books: Basic Marketing and Essentials of Marketing.
