Summary

Dr. Joachim Geske is energy economist. He entered his current position at the Department of Management at Imperial College Business School, Imperial College London, in September 2015.

In 2000 Joachim received his diploma in economics at the University of Bonn. He continued on a post-graduate position at the Department of Structural Change, Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) to analyze the economic processes following the German reunification. During that time he wrote his doctoral thesis at the Martin-Luther University Halle Wittenberg (Germany).

In 2006 he entered the Institute of Energy Research - Systems Analysis and Technology Evaluation (IEK-STE, Forschungszentrum Jülich). During that time, he specialized in energy economics. While gaining experience in international projects he also worked as project leader.

His research interests are the economic analysis of energy systems, ranging from applied numerical analyses to current topics in energy policy.
