Jo Ann is a nimble communicator with extensive experience in social and traditional media, business writing and issues management.
Nimble and creative, she’s provided strategic counsel and media relations support in the oil and gas, agricultural and higher education industries. Currently, she works in community relations within the Communications & Public Affairs team at Western University in London, Ontario.
Born in Montreal, Jo Ann grew up in Calgary and moved to London, ON in 2005. Her career in public relations spans almost 20 years. Jo Ann has been a member of IABC since 2003, honored with two Virtuoso awards and served on the IABC London board as President in 2016/17. She was nominated for the 2016 IABC Chapter Leader of the Year.
Jo Ann has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Communications in Public Relations from Mount Royal University. Outside her day job, she is an instructor at Western Continuing Studies and has been teaching business communication courses for over 10 years.
Jo Ann is the current Chair of IABC Canada East Region.
