Jim Hendrickson

Background

Jim Hendrickson joins the Department of Marketing and Logistics as a senior lecturer. His recent industry experience includes roles as vice president and general manager of logistics solutions for Pitney Bowes; director of global B2B services product line for IBM; and senior vice president of corporate development and vice president of product management for Sterling Commerce.

He has also held leadership positions at Bank One, Ernst & Young, JPMorgan Chase, Trident Data Systems, and the General Electric Aerospace Division. He served as a captain in the Army Medical Services Corps for more than four years, and is an Army ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate from Vanderbilt University. Hendrickson has an MS in management from National Louis University in Chicago, and a BS in business administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

His areas of expertise include Clevel executive leadership, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, supply chain management, technology, team building and people development.

BUSML 3380 Logistics Management

Concepts and methods used to plan and manage logistics activities in a business environment. Understanding of the components of logistics management and tradeoffs required to manage the integrated flow of goods through the supply chain. Prereq: Econ 2001.01 (200), or equivalent; and 2002.01 (201), or equivalent. Not open to students with credit for 780 or to students enrolled in UUSS, UExp, or PreBSBAPR.

BUSML 4385 Building a Sustainable Supply Chain

Focuses on understanding how to measure and impact the longterm sustainability of a company's supply chain operations; learn practices for reducing carbon footprints and creating a more resilient supply chain, while meeting financial goals. Prereq: 3380, and AcctMIS 2200 (211) , 2300 (212), and BusMGT 2320 (330), 2321 (331); and BusMHR 2291 or 2292 (BusADM 499.01).

BUSML 5381 Transportation Management

Issues and strategies in transportation management and policy; emphasis on study of modes of transportation, intermodal and international transportation, capacity management, competitive relations between modes; aspects of carrier management. Prereq: 3380, and AcctMIS 2200 (211), 2300 (212), and BusMGT 2320 (330), 2321 (331); and BusMHR 2291, or 2292 (BusADM 499.01), or enrollment in MBLE. Not open to students with credit for 784.

BUSML 7380.01 Strategic Logistics Management

Develop an understanding of key drivers of logistics performance and their interrelationships with strategy and other functional areas. Focus on developing analytic, problemsolving, and cost tradeoff management skills. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA or MBLE. Not open to students with credit for 7380.02 or 7380.

BUSML 7380 Strategic Logistics Management

Develop an understanding of key drivers of logistics performance and their interrelationships with strategy and other functional areas. Focus on developing analytic, problemsolving, and cost tradeoff management skills. Prereq: Enrollment in MBA, MBLE, or MAcc.
