Jill E. Fisch is an internationally known scholar whose work focuses on the intersection of business and law, including the role of regulation and litigation in addressing limitations in the disciplinary power of the capital markets. She has written more than 90 scholarly articles that have appeared in top law reviews, including the Harvard Law Review, the Yale Law Journal, the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and the Georgetown Law Journal.

Current projects include research on the role and interests of the retail investor, exploration of the potential limits of freedom of contract in corporate law, and analysis of the evolving role of institutional investors in corporate governance. Professor Fisch has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia to teach, to lecture, and to meet with scholars and regulators on issues involving comparative corporate governance and the globalization of the capital markets. She received the LLM Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2015-2016 and the Robert A. Gorman Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2010-2011 and again in 2020-2021.

Professor Fisch is a Director of the European Corporate Governance Institute, an Associate Reporter for the American Law Institute Restatement of Corporate Governance, and a former Chair of the Committee on Corporation Law of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
