Jihae Shin's research interests revolve around the dynamics of work motivation and performance. While it is generally assumed that high motivation is beneficial for performance and low motivation is detrimental for performance, in her research she questions this basic assumption and examines when and why the opposite is true.
Jihae joined the Wisconsin School of Business in 2014, after completing her Ph.D. from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. She earned an M.B.A. from Bowling Green State University and a B.B.A. from Yonsei University.
