Summary

Jenny O''Connor is a Research Associate in the Innovation and Enterprise Department at Imperial College Business School. She is a social scientist, and is currently working in the area of future cities on the RCUK Digital City Exchange (DCE) project and cryptocurrencies on the EPSRC-funded CREDIT grant. She conducts research primarily in the qualitative tradition, and has interdisciplinary research interests broadly concerned with the factors that shape user experience and human behaviour. At present, she is actively conducting research in the following spaces: the digital age and the transformation of society; sustainable cities, smart innovation and civic engagement; cryptocurrencies, blockchain applications and service design; Big Data, security, privacy and trust. Jenny has long standing research interests in organisational behaviour and the role of institutions in contemporary society, particularly in relation to institutional trust, social capital and community.

Before joining Imperial College London, Jenny completed her ESRC-funded PhD at King''s College London; this explored functional understandings of institutional trust within the healthcare sector. She also worked as a software developer in Dublin before completing a MRes in Environment and Development at King''s College London. She has a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Higher Diploma in Computer Science from University College Cork in Ireland.
