Jennie Granger joined UNSW Business School in October 2018 as an esteemed Professor of Practice. She is responsible for working closely with academics to integrate scholarly achievement with practical experience for students, and for bridging the connection between students and industry members.

Jennie Granger led complex transformational change in the public sector for over 25 years in Australia and most recently in the UK. She is internationally regarded as a leading expert on positioning and transforming revenue administrations and a leading technical expert on tax and regulatory compliance strategies and techniques. She is a member of the International Monetary Fund’s Panel of International Tax Administration experts that provides strategic advice to Governments and their revenue administrations.

Jennie returned to Australia in 2017 after serving 5 years as a Commissioner and Director General at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) where she led the transformation of Customer Compliance (28,000 staff) whilst doubling compliance revenues. Prior to joining HMRC Jennie’s career included Second Commissioner at the Australian Tax Office (ATO), their most senior woman leader, a Regulator at the newly established Clean Energy Regulator, and as Deputy Secretary for the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Jennie has previously chaired the ATO Audit Committee, and served on various boards, committees and advisory groups in the UK and Australia. Most recently, these include the UK Home Secretary’s Ministerial Board tackling Serious and Organised Crime, Cabinet Secretary Jeremy Heyward's Illegal Working Taskforce, the Home Office Border Strategy Committee, the National Crime Agency's Serious and Organised Crime Strategy Board, the Civil Service Race Champions Network, the Civil Service Talent Review Board, and the Judge Civil Service Awards.

Jennie’s key areas of expertise are within strategic positioning, workplace transformation, diversity and cultural change, governance, stakeholder engagement, leadership, and regulatory compliance.
